Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Sunday December 16th, 2018 at 5:00 pm

The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was first held on Christmas Eve 1918 at King’s College in Cambridge, England. It was planned by Eric Milner-White, who had just been appointed Dean of King’s College. Although the carols may change from year to year, the backbone of the service, the lessons, has remained virtually the same. The main theme as Dean Milner pointed out,” is the development of the loving purpose of God as seen through the windows and words of the Bible”

The evening begins with a Children’s Christmas Musical, refreshments and a cookie contest at intermission, followed by Lessons and Carols.
