FROM THE PASTOR 3/26/23

We congratulate all of our young persons from our parish who received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Fernandez on Saturday, March 11. Please join me by continuing praying for them. Additionally, pray for those in our community who will be receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 6^th and who attended our annual First Communion Retreat March 18^th.

As announced at all Masses on March 18 and 19, Bishop Fernandez published the Parochial Vicar assignments throughout the diocese that will be effective July 11 of this year.

The following appointment will affect us: Reverend Elias I. Udeh, CSSp, from Parochial Vicar, St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, to Parochial Vicar, St. Joan of Arc Church, Powell and St. Peter Church, Columbus, and continuing as Chaplain for the Nigerian Catholic Community, effective July 11, 2023.

Please save the date for the new pastor “Meet and Greet Nights” with Father Shalk next month. There will be 3 opportunities to welcome Father Schalk, ask questions, and enjoy fellowship within our community. The dates are as follows: Thursday, April 27^th at 7PM (St. Peter, in English), Sunday, April 30^th at 3PM (St. Peter, in Spanish), and Tuesday, May 2^nd at 7PM (St. Joan, in English). More details to come.

I hope and pray that your Lent has been spiritually fruitful. As we approach Holy Week, may we all enter deeply into the Paschal Mystery.

Felicitamos a todos nuestros jóvenes de nuestra parroquia que recibieron el Sacramento de la Confirmación de manos del Obispo Fernández el sábado 11 de marzo. Únase a mí y continúe orando por ellos. Además, ore por aquellos en nuestra comunidad que recibirán su Primera Comunión el sábado 6 de mayo y que asistieron a nuestro retiro anual de Primera Comunión el 18 de marzo.

Como se anunció en todas las misas del 18 y 19 de marzo, el obispo Fernández publicó las asignaciones de vicarios parroquiales en toda la diócesis que entrarán en vigencia el 11 de julio de este año. Nos afectará el siguiente nombramiento: Reverendo Elias I. Udeh, CSSp, de Vicario Parroquial, St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, a Vicario Parroquial, St. Joan of Arc Church, Powell and St. Peter Church, Columbus, y continuando como Capellán para la comunidad católica de Nigeria, a partir del 11 de julio de 2023.

 Por favor reserve la fecha para el nuevo pastor "Meet and Greet Nights" con el Padre Shalk el próximo mes. Habrá 3 oportunidades para dar la bienvenida al Padre Schalk, hacer preguntas y disfrutar del compañerismo dentro de nuestra comunidad. Las fechas son las siguientes: jueves 27 de abril a las 7:00 pm (St. Peter, en inglés), domingo 30 de abril a las 3:00 pm (St. Peter, en español), y martes 2 de mayo a las 7:00 pm (St. Joan, en inglés). ). Más detalles por venir. Espero y rezo para que vuestra Cuaresma haya sido espiritualmente fructífera. Al acercarnos a la Semana Santa, que todos entremos profundamente en el Misterio Pascual.
